To launch property in Kathgodam,Uttarakhand this May

Lords Inn Hotels & Developers Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of USA-based Lords Inn Hotels & Developers LLC, plans to add six properties in India by 2013. The group is trying to tap Tier-III and IV cities like Kathgodam and Haldwani in Uttarakhand and Porbandar in Gujarat.

Speaking to TravelBiz Monitor, Pushpendra Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director, Lords Group, said, "We will have three properties under the brand Lords Eco Inn, which is a small/budget segment hotel. One of the properties will be developed under the brand Lords Inn with more than 75 rooms.”

The Kathgodam property will be launched in May this year with 30 keys, two banquets and two restaurants. The group plans to tap the MICE and wedding segment and will be reaching out to markets like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and the close by industrial belt.

Bansal, added, “We already have our presence in Gujarat with 13 properties, we want to have our presence pan-India. While we are expanding, we are exploring places to the finest level. Our USP is that, we have properties where no one else has explored. We have franchise and management agreement for all six properties and they are in different stages of development. We are not looking at Tier-I cities because of the substantially high land cost and ROI and we do not have that kind of cash-flow. We are comfortable in doing business in Tier-III and IV cities because the ROI is good and also makes our owners happy."

Speaking about the expansion plans for Lords Hotels & Resorts, owned and managed properties in India, Bansal, said, “We also own and manage five properties, we are adding more rooms to the existing properties. For instances; we are adding 55 more rooms to the existing 45 rooms Silvassa property, which is expected to be operational in next three months. Silvassa is a preferred destination among the MICE and wedding segment. And thus, we are developing a 5000 square feet pillar-less banquet expected to be operational by three months. Besides Silvassa, the 110-key Lords Plaza hotels at Surat has been converted to 134 rooms and the 40-key Dahej property has been converted to 110 rooms.
