Real estate news on Legend Group plans to invest Rs 500 cr in Kerala

Dubai-based Legend group will commence its India operations by launching the country's first residential apartment project with hybrid natural energy back-up in Kochi.

Announcing this here today, the company said Arabian Legend Realtors Pvt Ltd, its Indian arm, was planning to invest Rs 500 crore in the first year and was targeting to build 10 million sft in Kerala by 2017.

"Legend Joswana, the group's first real estate project in India, in Tripunithura, near here will be in line with our green living and sustainable development policies. The hybrid natural energy back-up will be a part of this commitment," said Salem Saif Bin Saeed Alkutby, chairman of the group. The 15-storey, 75-apartments luxury project is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Legend Joswana would be the 394th real estate project of the Legend Group, which will be focusing its India operations in developing luxurious villas and residential apartments in the initial phase.

The group has interests in real estate, infrastructure, hospitality, electronics, solar energy among others and its activities are spread across the West Asia, Asia Pacific, US, Australia and South Africa.

"In Kerala, we plan at least 60 to 70 luxury apartment projects in the near future," said Joji Mathew, managing director, Legend group.
